Electric Pedal Controller for SUV

I. Pedal Function

1. Door-controlled telescopic function:

The extension and retraction of the pedals are consistent with the opening and closing states of the left and right doors of the original vehicle. When either door on the same side is opened, the pedal extends; when both doors on the same side are closed, the pedal retracts.

2. Adaptive self-learning:

After the ECU is powered on, it automatically completes the stroke learning through multiple door opening and closing actions, and adapts to the operating status such as motor load and pedal swing arm stroke.

3. Adjustable anti-pinch force:

3.1 Anti-pinch rebound: If the pedal encounters resistance during extension or retraction and reaches the set resistance level, it will stop and reverse. The anti-pinch rebound function will only take effect after learning is complete. After multiple consecutive triggers of the anti-pinch function, the anti-pinch logic will be temporarily disabled until the door opens and closes normally without obstruction.

3.2 Multi-level adjustment: The factory default is medium anti-pinch force threshold, and the accompanying mini-program supports 5 levels of anti-pinch force adjustment/anti-pinch function disabling. The mini-program allows for 5 levels of adjustment and disabling of the anti-pinch function.

4. Overvoltage and undervoltage protection:

The ECU collects the power supply bus voltage in real time. When the voltage value is lower than 8V or higher than 17V and continues to exceed the limit, the overvoltage and undervoltage protection functions are activated, and the pedal extension function is disabled.

5. Abuse of protection:

When the ECU accumulates the number of pedal start-stop cycles, and there is repeated high-frequency extension and retraction within a short period of time, the abuse protection function will be activated, temporarily disabling the extension function of the pedal on that side. The restriction will be automatically lifted after 30 seconds.

6. Welcoming Mode:

6.1 The welcoming function can be implemented by unlocking the door or using a key.

6.2 Unlocking and Welcoming: When the vehicle changes from the locked state to the unlocked state, the side steps extend.

6.3 Key Welcome: When the unlock signal is received from the key, the pedals on both sides extend.

(Note: The welcome function relies on CAN protocol support)

7. Gear Position Protection:

Welcome protection: The welcome function will be disabled when the vehicle is not in Park (P) gear.

(Note: The gear position protection function relies on CAN protocol support)

8. Vehicle speed protection:

Welcome protection: The welcome function will be disabled when the vehicle speed is greater than 5km/h.

(Note: The vehicle speed protection function relies on the CAN protocol)

9. Car Wash Mode:

When the car wash mode is activated, the pedal automatically extends and remains in place, and does not retract when the door is closed. It supports dual-opening logic: mini-program control and linkage with the original car wash mode (Note: the original car wash mode relies on the CAN protocol).

10. Maintenance Mode:

After activating maintenance mode, the pedal will automatically retract and remain in place when the door is closed, and will not extend when the door is opened. It supports dual-opening logic: mini-program control and linkage with the original vehicle's built-in maintenance mode (Note: the original vehicle's linkage maintenance mode relies on the CAN protocol).

II. Lighting Function

The ECU supports two-way sequential light control, with the lights on and off in sync with the pedal extension/retraction state. The lights turn on when the pedal is extended and turn off when the pedal is retracted.

Mini Program Settings: The lighting effects, color, speed, and self-extinguishing time in the extended state can be set in the mini program.

Turn signal following: When the vehicle's turn signal is on, the pedal light strip on the same side switches to yellow and flashes accordingly.

Brake light follow: When the vehicle's brake lights are on, the lights on both side pedals will flash red as a warning.

(Note: The turn signal following and brake light following functions rely on the CAN protocol.)

III. Agreement Collection

The hardware is compatible with CAN and CANFD vehicle bus protocols.

IV. Buzzer and indicator light functions

The buzzer and indicator lights are used to indicate the operating status and fault information of the ECU.

V. Low Power Mode

  1. Sleep mode: When there is no message transmission on the bus and Bluetooth is not connected, the ECU enters low power mode after 10 seconds of inactivity. In this mode, the power consumption of the whole machine is less than 1mA.

  1. Wake-up: The entire machine can be woken up when a message is transmitted on the bus.

VI. Firmware Upgrade

The Aidriver SUV electric pedal controller ECU supports two firmware upgrade methods: SD card and OTA upgrade via mini-program.

1. The SD card upgrade procedure is as follows :

1.1 Prepare an SD card and a card reader. The SD card specifications are: 4G or larger and support the FAFT file system.

1.2 Clear all files on the SD card before each upgrade.

1.3 Unzip the upgrade file package to obtain the upgrade file DDTB.bin, and then put the upgrade file into the SD card.

1.4 Power off the ECU, insert the SD card, and the ECU will be powered on again.

1.5 Entering the upgrade process: The buzzer beeps intermittently and the indicator light LED1 flashes intermittently.

1.6 Upgrade complete phenomenon: The buzzer beeps once more and then stops, and indicator LED2 remains lit.

2. The OTA operation process for the mini-program is as follows:

2.1 Unzip the upgrade file package to obtain the upgrade file DDTB.bin, and then send the upgrade file to the WeChat chat box.

2.2 Power on the ECU, open the mini-program, click on "Search Bluetooth", select Bluetooth file name: CFL99999... or DDTBHX, and connect via Bluetooth.

2.3 After selecting the connection, the ECU Bluetooth indicator light will be constantly on, and the parameters will be displayed on the mini-program interface, indicating that the connection is successful.

2.4 Click on [Firmware Upgrade], then click on [Select Firmware], select the upgrade file from the WeChat chat box, and click on [Start Upgrade].

2.5 Entering the upgrade process: The upgrade progress will be displayed on the mini-program interface.
