Since its inception in 2014, Aldriver has strictly adhered to the APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) standard to build a complete product development and testing system, covering the entire cycle from demand identification to mass production. The entire process is divided into seven stages, achieving standardized control throughout R&D, verification, and process implementation, ensuring stable and reliable final product quality. Strict adherence to APQP is the cornerstone of Aldriver's ability to control after-sales failure rates to within 0.5% (data from nearly 10 million units shipped to the aftermarket by 2026).

What is the APQP quality management system?

APQP is a structured product development quality management methodology commonly used in the automotive and high-end manufacturing industries, and one of the five core tools of the IATF 16949 quality management system. Its core logic is to bring quality control forward to every stage of product development, breaking away from the traditional "post-production inspection" quality control model. Through standardized planning, verification, and closed-loop iteration, it identifies potential risks in the design and production stages in advance, effectively reducing later design changes and process rework. This ensures consistent product quality while shortening the development cycle and controlling overall project costs.

Aldriver, combining its own product characteristics and business scenarios, has broken down the standard management framework of APQP into 7 executable development stages, covering the entire chain from requirement input to stable mass production, ensuring that every development action has a standard basis, verification output, and record traceability.

APQP development and testing process

① Customer needs survey

We engage in in-depth two-way communication with clients to accurately break down basic requirements such as project goals, functional indicators, and application scenarios. We combine industry experience to provide reasonable and professional suggestions, transforming clients' actual usage needs into clear and feasible development input conditions, thus avoiding the risk of requirement deviations from the source.

② Project approval

Conduct a comprehensive feasibility assessment of the project, and evaluate its feasibility from the perspectives of technical difficulty, cost cycle, and supply chain conditions; establish a special project team, clarify the division of labor and key milestones, output a complete project development plan, and officially launch the project.

③ Design and Development

Complete the full-dimensional R&D work of the product: conduct product functional logic analysis and overall architecture design; draw hardware schematics and write software code; simultaneously develop supporting test plans and plan verification standards in advance to ensure that the design plan is feasible and testable.

④ Sample testing

Aidriver first completes full software and hardware self-testing of the ECU to confirm that the basic functions of the ECU sample meet the standards before delivering the ECU sample to the customer. They then work with the customer to conduct on-site application debugging, collect feedback on issues under actual working conditions, and complete iterative optimization of the sample.

⑤ Mass production preparation

Based on the final debugging results of the ECU sample, review and archive all design drawings and technical documents; compile standardized mass production process guidance documents, clarify production procedures, parameters, and inspection standards, and complete all technical preparations before mass production.

⑥ Small-batch trial production

The complete set of design documents and production process documents were transferred to the production department to carry out small-batch trial production. The entire trial production process was tracked, data on the production process and finished product performance were collected, and design defects and process problems that were exposed were optimized and rectified to establish a smooth mass production process.

⑦ Formal mass production

All design documents, process files, and test reports for the project have been formally archived, and the production line has entered a stable mass production phase. Based on the rigorous development and verification processes implemented throughout the entire process, we continue to deliver high-quality, stable, and high-performance finished products to our customers, while maintaining complete technical documentation to support subsequent product iterations and after-sales issue tracing.

Aidriver's entire development process is based on the APQP quality management concept, ensuring that each step—from requirements gathering to design, verification, trial production, and mass production—is interconnected. This proactive approach controls potential risks, minimizes the cost of later changes, and guarantees that the entire product lifecycle, from R&D to deployment, is controllable.
